MOHAA Sound Problems

I have installed MOHAA in all the ways that I see possible (installer, port? **like a linux executable**) But I have problems with the sound. The game it self runs fine (I actually have a higher frame rate than in windows) but I can't hear the SGT talking, enemy gunfire, or team gunfire. I can here my rifle just fine.
I currently have installed mohaa with the linux installer, in the aterm I get some errors.
ERROR PlaySound: snd_step_metal needs an alias in ubersound.scr or ubar dialog.scr - please fix (isnt that my line? lol)
~~~~~~ Add the following line to the *_precach.scr map script:
Cache modles/player/american_army_fps.tik
ERROR PlaySound snd_landing _metal needs an alias in ubersound.scr or ubardialog.scr -please fix.
At first I thought i was getting these errors because the game isnt looking at the cdrom, no matter wich cdrom I have in the drive I get the same problem. Ive tryed have them mounted and not mounted. I would think that the Linux Installer came with a No Cd Patch, I might be wrong. Ive tried to locate "ubersound.scr and uberdialog.scr" but I have no such file. Unless its in the usr/local or something (ive noticed locate dosnt search there.. for some reason) But I appriciate anyones help, sorry if this is a retarded question. Thanks
are you running any desktop sound servers like aRts or ESD? disable them using these commands:
killall arts
killall esd
then try again. the problem might be a bug in the client, if it is, then you have to wait for the next version. btw, what version are you using? beta 1? that has known sound issues... theres a beta 2.
i know this is a old post, and im reviving it...
but.. i am a MOHAA player, i used the old Beta-3 loki installer, including the Native Linux executable"mohaa_lnx" and lauches fine after including the SDL library...
"Ubersound" is a sound script. located in (game-installation-root)/main/pak3.pk3(a zipped file)
that is not a issue, its a Openal issue, i cannot figure it out myself... i think its because of some strange OpenAL call for a depreciated windows version, that doesnt function in <5.1 - i could be wrong but i am expierencing the same thing...
my other issue is my screen will blink, and the mouse will stop. i cant get the mouse to move unless i click excessively to re-enter the window.
