MMORPG 4 Linux
I feel bad for posting the same thing twice, but, I posted the last one in the wrong forum . I've seen questions about MMORPGs 4 Linux. Is there a decent 3D MMORPG that's worth spending my time downloading it (and playing it)? (Vendetta-style or something close to it at least).
I've seen planeshift but seemed rather hard to control and there were a lot of 3D artefacts.

I can think of planeshift.it. Oh, heh you mentioned that in your post. Maybe give it another try? Join in on the community to help develop the game?

Try this: http://www.happypenguin.org/list?search=mmorpg
If link don't work then just search for "mmorpg" on Linux Game Tome.

Thanx for the replies. I've done some searching of my own before I ended up posting and found something that looked really nice (duuh, that's what the screenshots are supposed to to do). Its name is Vendetta which is a 3D space MMORPG, but, as I said before, it's in beta stage and they aren't accepting any more beta-testers (as in, you can't download/create an account).

Lineage2 and City of Heros work with winex. Vendetta looks really good. I'll be playing that for sure when I can get in the stress test.

hey I gotta question about PlaneShift. can I play it if I have an nVIDIA GeForce FX 5200?
PCNAME:~ # cd planeshift
PCNAME:/planeshift # sh psclient
Warning: Failed to load `gl3d'; use '-verbose' argument for details.
Warning: Failed to load `gl3d'; use '-verbose' argument for details.
WARNING: could not load plugin 'crystalspace.graphics3d.opengl'
aws-debug: Couldn't find iGraphics2D plugin!!
psclient: No 3d driver (iGraphics3D) plugin!
my videocard has 3D enabled so... the .tar.gz file was 104MB and now I have a folder thats only 18,1MB. Is that suppose to be like that?
I don't really know any free 3D MMORPGs. I know one that's MAYBE gonna be made for Linux and u only have to pay once (for the game). It's GuildWars but it isn't out yet.
Will the game be released on a different OS (Macintosh, Linux, etc.), or on other video game consoles?
Guild Wars is being developed on and will initially be released for the PC. We are aware that there is an interest in having the game available on other operating systems or other platforms, and we will continue to evaluate these possibilities as we get closer to release.

You have to recompile Planeshift for Linux. You have to grab CrystalSpace, CEL (CrystalSpace Entity Layer), and jam, compile them all (CS is the largest - about 100 megs from CVS, CEL is about 20 megs from CVS). There are detailed instructions to compile planeshift in planeshift/docs/Compiling.txt. Be aware that installing all the appz might chew up to 1 gig of your HDD so be prepared with at least 1 gig. I didn't have the nerves to compile planeshift. Nor the CPU and HDD

It wouldn't give out error messages like the one I recieved if it wasn't rwxr-xr-x (755). My guess is your binary is corrupted. Try extracting it again or re-downloading it.
