linuxq3apoint-1.32.x86.run bad checksum

Heyz,

When I try to install the linuxq3apoint-1.32.x86 for Quake 3 I get the following message:

[b00bytrap@b00bytrap gamefiles]$ sh linuxq3apoint-1.32.x86.run
Verifying archive integrity...tail: kan `+6' niet openen om te lezen: Onbekend bestand of map
Error in check sums 3402128606 3293662273
[b00bytrap@b00bytrap gamefiles]$

In english it would be something like:

[b00bytrap@b00bytrap gamefiles]$ sh linuxq3apoint-1.32.x86.run
Verifying archive integrity...tail: cant open `+6' for reading: Unknown file or directory
Error in check sums 3402128606 3293662273
[b00bytrap@b00bytrap gamefiles]$

I tried more point releases but they all come up with the checksum thing. Currently I use FC5 distro. With the earlier releases of Fedora I never had this error on my linuxbox.

Could someone help me with this 'problem'?

My linuxdistro: Fedora Core 5 x86_64
My cpu 'Pentium D 830 64' <== in case that might be the problem.

Greetz,

hey there b(.)(.)by-t-rap,

I'm just thinking that the files are corrupt and hence the checksum errors. Don't know where you got them from, and it has happened to me in the past with q3a pointreleases until I actually found the ones that worked.

I currently am still uploading the pointreleases to my webhosting, but you can take a look at

http://www.slackmagic.com/gaming/q3a/pointrelease/

in about 30 minutes and it should have all pointreleases there.

Use linuxq3apoint-1.32b-3.x86.run as that has some major fixes about mouse issues you more likely will face with the other previous pointreleases. However, I've included most of all recent pointreleases for you just to be sure. The rest is up to you :P ----- happy fragging
