Katawa Shoujo now has a release date

This is a free game that's been in development since 2000. The concept and artwork are completely original. It is also *ahem* targeted at a mature audience. It looks great.

And now, it has a release date and a (safe for work) launch trailer.

Targeted platforms are Mac, Linux and Windows. It uses the Ren'Py engine. The site is safe for work.

It made the Ubuntuvibes blog.

I wonder how much of its development (particularly the development of the graphics assets) was crowdsourced.
