Joysticks under wine

I try it here once more:

I am trying to get my joysticks work under IL-2 in wine.

I found out that one needs to softlink the joystick devices from /dev/input to /dev - fine, done.

I have now one joystick working but only two axis.

I try to improve the situation - I have heard that wine regedit is the way...
I have found out something unclear about registry entries and "directinput" entry - I do not have such a registry entry and so on - Do I have to create one or what am I exactly supposed to do in order to get it to work? Can someone post an example?
