Question Jones in the Fast Lane

Anyone here ever manage to get Jones in the Fast Lane running under wine? I'm trying to on a Debian Lenny i386 system. The best I'm able to do is get to the opening "Illegal copying is evil" warning, and it freezes up. I keep messing with the RESOURCE.CFG file, to try out the different sound drivers and keyboard drivers and such like, but no improvement. Set winecfg for a Windows 95 environment, and that didn't seem to help either.

Why are you using wine for a dos game ?
Please use dosbox instead:

Thanks! That worked great. Just played a full game. It was the same glorious 256 color graphics and PC-speaker music that I remember from the old days...

Yeah, and you can play many other DOS games on dosbox, most will work just fine with a bit of tweaking, oftentimes even better than say scummvm if it supports them.
