hello all
i have just saw for the first time a red hat o.s in a friends house
i saw the simple build in games in there and loved them
specially the game called gnome wich is a sort of puzzle
with numbers on the sides of the puzzule's pieces wich you need to fit
so my questions are...
-can i play this games in my o.s (windows xp)?
-how and where can i get them online?
-i have tried to copy the game folder from the red hat computer
to a floppy disk but the xp doesn't recognized it
-does anybody knows the puzzle game i have discribed?
-what does it calls?
The game you describe suits the Tetravex in your description... In order to play this game in XP you should see if there's a Windows build (do a google search with this name) and/or see if it's playable trhough cigwin (a Linux emulator for Windows), since this game requires GTK+ you may need to install that program for Windows too.
Or...go to the morphix site and download the live cd with the games on it (they make four types - one is for playing those - and many more - games). Then when you wanna play Linux games, you can pop in the cd and play away. When you're done, you can shut down and boot back to Windows and it'll be like Linux never touched your puter......
Hey, this is very cool!. I think it's the first time ever that I see someone who wants to try running a Linux game under Windows. It's always the other way around .
I'd also recommend a live CD as vectordrake recommended. Knoppix is also very good. I cannot remember if it comes with games, but probably it does. The coolest is, if knoppix runs fine on your PC (sound, video, etc) you can even choose to install it on your hard-drive and keep windowsXP .
