Calm down. They'll release them in a few weaks, and although DooM 3 uses OpenGL alot, some things are hard to port, like the heat wave which uses DX9, that'll take some time. Meanwhile, I'm just as anxious as you are, so I'm playing it with Cedega.

i had to give up and make a partition with windows... i couldnt get the game to launch with ATI Drivers and wine-cvs or cedega

there was a constalation prize: linux Doom3 video released though

I should be getting an nvidia card on thursday in the mail.. Ill go back to linux then

What nVidia card? When you need an upgrade, there's a GeForce 6800 for $287 at newegg...

i am dreaming of twin 6800's. trouble is we will need a twin pcie-16 board, and so far only intel make them

FX5700LE w/ 256MB of ram... I will not spend more than 100 bucks on a video card (or any computer stuff for that matter). This one was $99 on pricewatch.

Go with the 5900XT 128. A much better card for a couple bucks more.

and if ur impatient, keep a lookout on ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/doom3

see if that directory exists, once it does, im willing to bet linux binaries will be on it.

I dont *think* it will be that long... it was said that the linux binaiies would come out after the demo...
