There's been some issues with MDK10 and Nvidia's 6111 drivers. After Konquering : ) those, I began having problems with Quake 3.
Quake 3 was locking up after about 10 minutes of game play. Almost as if the computer was completely locking up. After many restarts, I dropped ssh on it and putty on my gf's computer. X can be restarted, and the computer is fully functional again.
Checked for overheating issues, none. Everything except Quake 3 works. Quake 3 mods lock up even faster (q3rally).
Specs:
. . 750 Duron
. . 1.25 GB ram
. . GForce FX 5600
I'm running the default i686 kernel on the Dowload version.
. . Tux racer works great.
. . GLXGears works great.
. . Sound works great.
. . Q3 shi1s it's pants.
Are there any known issues w/ the 5600s and Q3? I've read many posts with similar problems, but no usefull replies. Even if you don't have an answer, post if you have similar problems please post so that the issue can be tracked. Even if you're new to linux.
For the record, i found this on another post... It was an OSX forum, but exact same problem... I'll post my results after i try it...

Thanks for the suggestions regarding the crashes..
Those of you who had the same problem will probably like to know that the reason for the problem was a faulty DIMM.
I upgraded my ram at the same time as I upgraded to os x 10.1, so I thought the problem came from the system upgrade.. Anyway, once the memory was gone so were the crashes. (I had to play Quake 2 all day just to verify that :-)
u know what? I have been expierencing HARSH lock ups on games, and when I keep my computer running for a day or so. Usualy it locked up while using a CPU INTENSE games or something. Like BF 1942, DC, CS, Medal Of Honor Allied Assault. I was looking around, then someone in my thread said to "clean out ur processor fan, it may have a lot of clutter (dust bunny things) cloged in the heat sink. I looked at yes ther was plenty. I went to walmart, and spend around 4 dollars on a canister of Electronic Spray stuff, u know, that C02. (if dont know what im talking about plz reply) I sprayed it, and I havent seen a lock up in DAYS.
