Half life level finishes loading but screen doesn't refresh!
Hi,
I got half life to work on Slackware 10.0 but when the level finished loading the screen resizes and the loading picture is still there. I can click the mouse and hear gunshots but nothing else appears onscreen. Also the keyboard doesn't want to work... what could be wrong?
Originally posted by CPUFreak91 I'm uisng regular WINE. Do I need Cedega? Is it free/opensource?
Cedega is not free unfortanatly. While I disagree with it, I am here to provide information, so the link is http://www.transgaming.com. I know that Half-Life did work under WINE at one point but I'm not sure the latest versions and Steam work under it.
HL1 installs fine under wine and even starts but only as far as the main menu. After that you can select options but it never redraws the screen. Given up trying to get that to work (till next time).
Originally posted by CPUFreak91 Well I was told that Half Life 1 worked well under wine.
Older versions did but there have been significant changes in the code base, especially with the transition to STEAM and such. I would try the CVS Wine like I suggested in your other thread and see if that helps.
I just dl cvscedega and Hl runs fine on it. Even using OpenGl driver in game option under nvidia gl libs (no mesa about here ;-)
There goes the weekend.
