I have a name, but only because I brought a pre-order disc alone. I'll be getting the game next time I go home on break. i got some CDs and a game I don't want anymore anyway, so I'm selling those.
Will probably be on after October.
Name: Ayumi Samakasa (I'm 99% sure of that...)
Just a note - this guild is in the process of being shut down. The school has completely blocked all online gaming ports, and has no desire to reopen any of them. So it's gonna be a while until I can come online.
Thus, PHA is closing. If you'd like to join a group with a lot of Linux users, feel free to join Thorus Cerinious' new guild, "Shadow Knights Of The Dark [SKD]"
"We are extremely pleased the game has been so well received in such a short amount of time," said ArenaNet co-founder Michael O'Brien. "Our commitment to our players is consistently to provide high-level support for the game through frequent gameplay and content updates and we believe that's a big reason why we have so many people playing the game today
Well, I have Lvl 20 Mo/W, lvl20 W/mo Both completed.
My in game name is "Cyclone Monk".
But i don't run is from my Gen-too box "yet"
I am not able to buy cedega using credit card (they are not that popular in the Netherlands)
But i'm still wrestling with the cvs version of wine.
So if any of you out there have a nice how-to on it.
Or planning to make one i will be very grateful.
Originally posted by Hammett Sure it's good news for all gamers that now Guild Wars can be run on Linux via Cedega, but I don't think this should be the way to play games on Linux. As long as you need Cedega to run games, the developers won't bother to make a Linux client for the game, thus it will never be games for Linux cause Cedega does the trick.
I really think we (Linux users) should push developers to make Linux binaries in order to pay and play (Just like WoW petition), not just pay and use Cedega (you're paying twice) without the certaincy (does it exist??) of working.
This is not a post against Cedega, but a thought on Linux games and how users "should" behave in order to have native games for Linux.
Completely agree. Which is why I stopped buying games that don't support linux (unless they're amazing). However, I have a few games (including GW) left over from my Windows life. I'm glad that I can run GW on linux, now ('specially since I paid $80 for the collector's edition), though I'd prefer a GW linux client. Anyway, mind inviting me to the PHA?
Name: Elghinn Ultrin (I think) (if that doesn't work, just invite Valczir Darkvein)
I guess I'll have to repeat myself... PHA has closed its doors. I'm home on spring break, so I'll probably remove the last vestiges of the guild later this week, if I can get around to it. If someone else would like to recreate it, that's fine, but I'm done with it. Moved on to World of Warcraft.

Cedega and Wine are great way to get some applications to work under Linux but if we keep supporting them, companies wont bother to make Linux version of WOW or Guild Wars, or even Half-Life 2 Counter Strike....
