Grand Theft Auto VC - Not working on WINE >1.8.6 !! (Debian Stretch, kernel. 4.9.x)

Hello,

GTA Vice City was fairly working on Debian Jessie with kernel >3.16 and 4.5 and with wine-1.6.2 (debian 8.4, 1.6.2-20).

I would like to share the mega issue that GTA-VC hangs at start of the game with wine version (with 4.9.2 kernel):

wine-1.8.6 (Debian 1.8.6-1) <-- GTA-VC not working.

If you manage to make it launch and to play, please post how. This is a quite important gaming issue.

Best regards,
Pat
