Good or Bad FPS w/ ATI 9600 xt

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
I recently installed slackware and didn't get much help with ATI drivers. However, i did manage to get them to work. I just aquired this 9600 XT 128 and expected a better frame rate. In glxgears i get 3006. I am running the older ATI drivers because I can't get the 3d to work w/ wine & cstrike. I have a Soyo KT400 mb, XP2700 Athlon, 512 mb ddr pc3200 mushkin, 120 gb drive. Does this frame rate sound about right? Any input would help.

Wishing I would've purchased a GeForce 5900....... Dimax
