I've recently switced to Linux and although I didn't play lately because the lack of time I would gladly play in some games, so I would like to check if you know any games or similar to those I'll mention below:
- something like Elite(probably my favourite game from ZX Spectrum times)
- Outpost (very sad that Sierra won't do 3rd part of this great game, maybe there some other similar games out there?)
- Ascendancy by LogicFactory
- Fallout by BlackIsle
- Death Gate by LegnedEntertainment
- Bio Forge
I know that I could probably run these games with Wine but wish to know if there any similar games exists. If you know some games which could be interesting for me but exists for Windows only I will appreciate if you mention them as well.
hi Xavier, actually I had Spectrum emulator(which work under Windows) although if I would choose between playing in old games I would probably choose Elite not from ZX but X-Frontier(I like it a bit more than ZX's version) from MSDOS times, but I just wonder if there some version adpoted for Linux exists.

The types of search I did were "elite game linux" (without the quotes)- normally, as long as linux is the first or last word in the search, the results are good.
(PS - the url for the dictionary in your sig is wrong - the word "search" is mis-spelt)
Thanks, I didn't try to search for any games in search engines yet as when I've tried to search for Elite in the Windows I've just find out that development is stopped and the best possible alternative was Freelancer from M$ :-\ So when I've spot board for games I decide to ask folks if to see if they know anything good I could play into.
and thanks for notice about misspelling in the signature, I'll fix it now.
