Full Screen Problems

With some games (Tux Racer, Liero-Al, Some others) when they go full screen i see the left bit of the screen repeated several times accross the screen. If i log out and login (to the garphical enviroment) again, it goes back to normal. But on some games this does not happen and it works properly . These are BZFLAG and some other games. I have not downloaded any special drivers for my video card, is this the problem?. I never had any problems like this whan i was running windows 98. (with it's included driver).

Any help will be appreciated. ( if you want a screenshot i will email one to you, this fourm dosent seem to want me to include images)
