torx is actually pretty decent. I'm not real good at it, but I do play it from time to time.

I appologize. We were calling it Torx. It's actually called The Open Racing Cars Simulator(TORCS). This game is included in some distros.

I was looking at :

but there are hundreds of them.
Is there someone similar to 'Call of Duty' ?

HI,

after reading this thread, I use apt-get to install torcs.
However, I encounter a problem when playing it.

It issues
Code:
Visual Properties Report
------------------------
Compatibility mode, properties unknown.
WARNING: ssgLoadTexture: Cannot determine file type for './(null)'
open /dev/[sound/]dsp: Device or resource busy
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'char const*'
/usr/games/torcs: line 52: 6968 "...has been terminated" $LIBDIR/torcs-bin -l $LOCAL_CONF -L $LIBDIR -D $DATADIR $*
What went wrong? or what i need to do inorder to fix this problem?

many thanks,

My env is debian 3.x sarge testing. kernel 2.6.16 manually built. the torcs version seems to be 1.2.4 according to number appearing on its screen.

p.s.: "...has been terminated" is translated from words appeared on my screen into english because the env i use is not english.

I wanted to recommend racer.bin, a realistic racing simulator, but can't find a download link. This is miles ahead of torcs in the physics department. Great fun if you can find it.

Anyone know what's happened to this project?

Edit/ Just noticed the age of this thread LOL.

shogun

It's better to start a new thread than drag something like this out of the crypt. Hope someone who can help spots your post.

It appears racer development for linux dead-ended
http://www.racer.nl/
I'm still enjoying this on an old slackware install

SuperTuxKart probably is a better idea than TuxKart.

VDrift is just the best these days although you might also try Racer which has a Loki installer these days.
