Favorite DOOM launcher?

Does anyone here have a favorite frontend for launching DOOM? ZDL (which I've never used and which targets Windows) is the most famous. I've also heard of DOOM Launcher. Personally, I've never tried any of them.

Anyway, if no-one in the community likes any of the existing ones, then I might write one myself.

I recently played through all of Doom and Doom II using Chocolate Doom. https://www.chocolate-doom.org/

Wouldn't say it's my favourite per-se, given how little I've used any others, but I found it perfectly adequate. I forget what lead me to it specifically, but one factor was certainly that it doesn't do anything to make the graphics look better. I wanted the original blocky graphics that now look terrible full screen. I played in a 640x480 window, I think. Or maybe it was 800x600.

Zandronum port via Doomseeker ,also the servers are pretty populated and the launcher also support Heretic and Hexen, you can also find vanilla games there, w/o mods.

Yes! That's the kind of stuff I'm asking about.

Anyway, I'll be starting the project soon (probably next week). The first thing I'll be testing for is whether the GUI toolkit causes any issues with the Steam Overlay. Then it's going to be a several drop targets that you can drag WADs, DEHs, BEXs and LMPs onto from a file manager.

I just discovered Rocket Launcher 2.

Zandronum Thread.
Doomworld Thread

I want one for single-player. This is definitely what I'm looking for.

I'm going to read over the discussion thread for the previous Windows-only incarnation too:

It doesn't support all the source ports I like to use, but do check this out:

And in other news, I just tried the Linux version of ZDL and it's actually excellent.

This is the best one. It's the only one that properly supports -deh files.

I like chocolate doom as well. Recommended if you're into the vanilla experience. If you have a higher res monitor, it won't support scaling beyond 3x or so though. I've hacked on that a bit. Very easy to add higher multipliers to that.
