Everquest woes

Hellos,
Has anybody gotten everquest to work correctly with mandrake 10?
I've gotten it load up and even gotten in to the world but with missing textures and the frame rates of a 486 in game. I know that it has to be something with my config but not sure what. I'm using mandrake 10 the newest ATI drivers and cedega pointnplay and even cvswinex but no joy with any of them 8( . I'd love to get EQ working correctly so I can finally dump M$ from by system for good but if I can't EQ then I'll have to keep it.

Any help advice config examples are most welcome.
