Enemy Territory - List of servers for dialup players?

I've been playing Enemy Territory now on Linux for a few weeks and it's quite enjoyable. However, lately there are less and less servers to choose from for us dialup users. When I click the box on server listings to sort by only anti-lag modem support, the list of servers is getting smaller and smaller. Not only that, but it seems like there's hardly anyone in the US who runs an Enemy Territory server with support for dialup modem users.

Is there a list of servers for dialup players available? Does anyone run a 24/7 ET server with anti-lag modem support? If so, please post information here so other dialup users can login and enjoy playing.

Okay, other than that request, <rant>can those of you who do run ET servers and support modem 56k users, PLEASE do not set your server for low pings only. It kind of defeats the purpose of supporting 56k users as it's a very slim chance that one of them has an actual "low ping". That's the point of enabling the modem support because they usually don't have a low ping! It's bad enough that I'm greeted with a message (on several servers that support 56k users) several times a day when joining certain servers that I have to download:

Yet-another-stupid-map.pk3 -------- which is usually over 4MB in size. Come on! If that wasn't bad enough, I manually downloaded the etpro 3_0_1 or whatever it is because for several days many of the servers were requiring it. Once I had it and logged on, I played a total of one game with this on a server with ONE other person. Now oddly enough I can't find servers running etpro 3_0_1 (unless they have OTHER maps you have to download to join) with people on them, and I had to laugh and curse at the screen when I downloaded etpro 3_0_1 only to be greeted with one server telling me I needed etpro 2_0_0 wth! </rant>

No broadband comments in reply to this thread please, this is my thread and any comments about broadband will be considered OFF TOPIC. Thanks for reading. I appreciate any serious replies with a server list or mention of servers for ET that support dialup.

Hi When I was only on dial-up, I ran into the same thing with online games. I think there needs to be some web-page made that will list the needed software to be played upon a particular server, instead of everyone going in blind and finding out then. The case is even the same with those on broadband, if you have one release, you can not get in on a server, the people are playing in another release.

Some severs do not have the courtesy to let you know anything at all, just give you a refused response. Dial-up or broadband, it doesn't make any difference, there needs to be common ground with how the servers are set up and the courtesy to let people know what the requirements are to get on them, before trying and finding out later. Some do but most do not. So I more or less gave up playing online due to this. After I first got broadband, I thought that my expierence would be different, but it wasn't. I just play against my computer.

This has been more or less a personal rant of mine, but no one else seemed to care, so I gave up. It appears that you are running into more or less the same thing. Good luck in finding a solution.
