Dreamcast Emulator - lxdream ... How do you install from the .tar.gz?

i just searched for a dreamcast emulator and found lxdream (lxdream.org)
which is an emulator for linux (duh)
but anyway, it comes in a .tar.gz format and i don't realy know how to install those :S
does anyone know of a .deb of this emulator or can give me simple step by step instructions on how to install from .tar.gz
by the way i downloaded the latest version, 0.8.3 if that helps

Well ya -

First thing go into the dir where the .tar.gz file is, then do

#gunzip <nameoffile>.tar.gz

Then just go into the directory where you want to install it -

I would suggest /usr/local/ but thats just me

Then while in /usr/local (or whatever install directory)

#tar xvf /<fullpathtotarfile>/<filename>.tar

Then I would explore the install directory to see where it put the program and then just put the dir it is in your path - it will probably be something like

/<installdir>/lxdream/bin

Then run it

Hope I understood what you where trying to do correctly -

Regards,

I just saw the guy above me ^^^^^^^ so ya it is probably better to read that
