dragon age

Anybody have a good guess if Dragon Age is going to work on Wine? I want that game so bad but I'm one of those fanatics who won't buy anything unless it runs on Linux.

Somehow I doubt it will run through wine, at least not right away after its release. The requirements are awfully high.

I've been reading tonight that a few people have had the demo running in Wine 1.1.xx with varying amounts of trouble from none to "low settings only", although that last may have been hardware related.

Honestly, Wine is so powerful and stable now that I'd say it's rare for something not to work unless it's extremely tied into winblows with undocumented calls and such (IE itself is probably the best example) or full of the nastiest DRM you can find.

According to Wikipedia, it won't include SecuRom, only "a standard disk check" (YAAY!!) but has hardware requirements that are pretty large (dual core minimum, quad core recommended along with a high-end video card). With that in mind, I'd be more worried about your hardware than how Wine will handle it.

Mike
