hi im trying to get doom3 working on my laptop as it is the only thing without an ati card

it is 1.4GHz pentium 3m and i arnt sure what graphics it is althou i know it has 512mb of ram init and i am running suse 9.1 it is a gatway laptop from when my dad lived in the states

the game installed ok and i cpied the filles with no problems of the dvd but when i go into my k menu and click on applications there are 4 doom3's and nonwork it iether fails to start or goes to a black screen

does anybody have any ideas?

Try running it from the console. I had a similar problem, I had set up xorg.conf to use 16 bit colour by default, and I believe doom3 requires 24bit, changing that fixed the problem.

i have tried using the command but havnt changed the xorg.conf could work i will go it a go
