Doom 95 on Ubuntu (i dont want prboom)


I want to download the original doom for ubuntu so i can play with my friends in deathmatch


i would like a good version and how to install it thanks

You could try Doom with Dosbox. I cant give you Dosbox install help though.

Oh and by the way, if you did not know this Doom 95 is NOT original Doom. It was Microsoft's Windows port. There were upset that Doom sold more Copies than Win95, so they made a doom windows port.

I found a Dosbox Deb for you, http://maledivenhilfe.com/dl/makke/deb/dosbox/

It is 0.70, the newest version is 0.71 which I got easy because of the Fedora RPM Repository.

WINE can run Dos Applications?

I guess so! You can always try! Sorry but i can't try it for you because I don't have any dos apps here.

I treid running Duke Nukem 3D Atomic Edition under WINE, it did not work. You could try to WINE Doom 95 though. But for original MS DOS Doom< Iw ould suggest DOSBox.
