OK, simple question, but I can't find an aswer.
What is a good memory scanner for linux - debian based. I want something powerful and low frills.
I want something that I can select the game, search a value(usually 8byte), and rescan until it finds the right address, I don't even have ne use for saving the values. O yea, change the value of the string.
I use gdb (GNU Debugger) to examine the memory when I program stuff. I am not sure if you want it, it is pretty advanced and can do a lot of sneaking in memory and also give you info about stack pointers and stuff. Good for debugging, at least.
If your purpose is debugging a program, GDB works quite well... however, when a program is compiled without debugging info and possibly even without a frame pointer GDB become much less helpful.
At any rate, because of the "cheating" implication made by this post I'm closing it. We don't support hacking, cracking, cheating or anything similar on this site.
