Hell ,,I a noob at Linux,,And would like to know which version of Linux
would be good for running a Gaming Server....such as
Counter Strike,,BF1942

Seems the most stable servers i play online are run on a Linux server

Any Help would be greatly appreciated

Quite frankly, unless the game has a Linux native (e.g.: Quake 3 Arena, Unreal Tournament 2003, Neverwinter Nights, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, etc.), I personally feel that you are doing the Linux community a dis-service by running a server for Windozers. I personally advocate the boycotting of any Linux server application by the Linux community unless the developer releases a Linux native client for the game.

As far as which version is stable, they are all stable once set up correctly.

if youre running a game with a linux native port, the most stable server available should come with the game itself.

try mandrake or slack. theyre the best ones, aside from gentoo, but gentoo is tough to install/configure

Mandrake is too cutting edge to be stable. Try Slack or Debian instead.
