I have been looking for a new in the box Alpha Centuri for a while now. The loki one of course. All I can say is that this game is rare hence the reason I want it.

Using the loki linux port, I can say it's fantastic. Works great, completely interoperable with the windows versions for pbem and the like, includes alien crossfire expansion.
It's IMPOSSIBLE to find, however. By now I think it might be completely impossible to purchase a legal version.

Are you saying you have it? I've been looking around for it and have had a hell of a time.
