Another UT2003 installation issue...

Although I did not have this problem the last time I installed it (in a previous Linux installation), I am this time. I'm installing it the same way as last time, in KDE from a file manager window logged in as SU. Supermount is handling the mount/unmount jobs. Worked perfectly last time, but this time...

I run the script on disc 3, then it asks for disk 1. I open the CD ROM, put the disc in, close it, and then click okay. But it never recognizes that the disk is there and never accesses it. I can click OK a hundred times, but it never works. I can only click Cancel and end the installation. Anyone ever seen this? Have a clue what to do?

Thank you in advance!!

disable supermount

"supermount -i disable"

reboot

open two terminals
use one for mount/umount

the other for initiating the install script
manually mount and umount the disks

this is the only way to install ut2003 on Mdk9.1

Here's the deal. When it asks for disk one, it might really need disk 2. If it asks for disk 2, it might really need disk 3. Unmount your drive, install the disk it asks for and remount it. If it doesn't work, then try another disk. I'm installing it now and it happened twice. But it's installing, just not with the disks they are asking for.

Odd bug I guess.

Thank you all very much for the assistance. BTW, will "supermount -i enable" re-enable the supermount or is the command different? Thank you in advance!

Now, if I can just remember the mount/unmount thing...

I now have it installed, and it plays the game very well with excellent response. However, my frame rates are terrible! With all of the game settings maxed I was getting an ave of 75-95FPS in WIndowsXP, but I have everything on Normal, and I'm getting 35-50FPS. Also, on some maps, seeing flashes that look like textures or meshes. Anyone ever seen that before? Any ideas?
Thanks again!!
