Another Humble Bundle!

For those that don't know, there has been another Humble Bundle released! This one features games published by "FrozenByte" and includes releases for Linux, is DRM free and helps charity :)

I finished playing through Trine today and really enjoyed it. Well worth the money.

Edit: Just realised I didnt include a link. www.humblebundle.com

Can I ask what kind of games are available? I never heard of this, but something tells me that it seems pretty promising...

It comes with two top down 'run around' shooters which were pretty cool and Trine which is a puzzle platformer and is really quite fun.

Since you can name your own price, throw them a couple bucks and see for yourself ;-)

I just might do that, thanks man.

Trine is a great game, i'd pay the same amount just for that one game.
Shadowgrounds and Survivor i can't get to run: "Got signal 11 at (nil) from (nil)". Same error in both.
It seems that these two games were developed a good few years back (2004?) and weren't really tested much on new hardware/distros. There are few threads on frozenbyte forums with various crashes and errors and no fixes.
I'm holding off playing those games in windows - the reason i got those games is that they "run" on linux. I would't pay a penny for windows only game.

Are you using the open source graphics drivers? I'm not sure, but you may require the proprietary drivers.

I've nvidia drivers, running lots of other games without problems:doom3, quakewars. just these two frozenbyte games crash with same error.

Fixed shadowgrounds by editing options.txt file. The string screen_bpp value needed changing from 32 to 24. Linux uses 24bpp. 32bpp is a windows setting, what is it doing in a linux version of the game? :)

It was probably ported straight over, and the devs most likely forgot to create a new options.txt file for the linux version :)

Interesting! I never ran into that problem, but I'm glad you found a fix :)
