Hello!

My only problem to switch totally to linux is this game...age of empires + expansion the conquerors.
I installed wine and winesetuptk that configured it automatically.
I tryied some windows programs and they work, only age of empires won't work.
There are 2 files,
one is age of empires 2 and I get this error when I launch it:
Could not initialize graaphics system. Make sure that your video card and driver are compatible with DirectDraw.

the second file is the age of empires expansion set [the conquerors] and this file gives me this error:
Could not initialize program. Age of Empires II not detected.

But I have it, and I can play it under Windows.

What can I do? WineX should be a solution I think, 'cause I saw a screenshot with age eunning on it, but I couldn't find a page to download it for free.

I also have this problem. Any help would be much appreciated, as it's little things like this that keep Windows XP (gasp!) on my hard drive.

Someone please help me get rid of it once and for all!!

Which version of wine are you using?
