0fps using Cedega and closed nvidia drivers

I am having an issue when I run OpenGL games in Cedega. I have tried to install Quake 3 and Soldier of Fortune 2 in Cedega. Both of these games are giving me near 0fps. I have the closed-source nvidia drivers installed because I have Unreal Tournament and it plays smooth. This problem is only related to Cedega.

Well, Quake 3 has a native version available so don't play it through Cedega. With SoF2, I can't help sorry. You'd be better off posting in the transgaming.org forums or even submitting a support ticket

Cs-cam, I know Quake 3 has a native version. The sound does not work in the native version. This is why I want to run it in Cedega.

I would worry more about getting your sound working in the native version than getting quake 3 to run in cedega.

I have been trying to get my sound working on Quake 3. I have looked all over Google and I haven't found a solution that works.

Care to post any error messages you're getting? Sound works fine for me in Q3. If you're still having trouble with games in Cedega, create an official support ticket on their site. That's what you pay for so why not use it? It means getting a response from one of the developers compared to getting a response from some random in a forum...

This is the error that is being outputted to the Quake 3 console:
Code:
------- sound initialization -------
Could not mmap dma buffer PROT_WRITE|PROT_READ
trying mmap PROT_WRITE (with associated better compatibility / less performance code)
/dev/dsp: Input/output error
Could not mmap /dev/dsp
------------------------------------

You use ALSA for sound? Try running this, see if it makes a difference
Code:
aoss quake3
You'd need to install alsa-oss with pacman first though

That actually worked, but the sound is terrible. Is there a fix for this?
