vfat partition does not mount on lfs

[Log in to get rid of this advertisement]
i have successfully installed lfs 6.1
but i am not able to mount window$ FAT32 partitions.
when i give
mount -t vfat /dev/hda1 /mnt/win_c
it says,
Code:
FAT : codepage cp437 not found
mount : wrong fstype, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/hda1
missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try dmesg | tail or so.
dmesg|tail gives,
Code:
kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds.
EXT3FS on hda9 internal journal
EXT3-fs : mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds.
EXT3FS on hda7 internal journal
EXT3-fs : mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
Unable to load NLS charset cp437
FAT : codepage cp437 not found
Unable to load NLS charset cp437
FAT : codepage cp437 not found
in my .config file i found
Code:
# CONFIG_NLS_CODEPAGE_437 is not set
how do i set this on now... do i have to compile the kernel all over again? what other 'CONFIG_NLS_CODEPAGE' should i set?

Go to Filesystems -> Native Language Support and enable Codepage 437. Although I'm surprised it's not already enabled since I believe that one is enabled by default. Yes, you'll have to do some kernel recompilation. If you plan to have any files that have Unicode characters, you may also want to enable NLS UTF8 at the bottom.
