Updating LFS

I was just curious if it's possible to add a program such as Synaptic or emerge or apt-get to a built LFS system. Since LFS is compiled from source, is it possible to add a Gentoo repository (or repositories) as to avoid building your system all over again once a new edition of LFS comes out?
