System Path Enviroment Variable

Hello, this is my first post :)

I am installing Macromedia JRun on my server and I keep getting this nagging message that Java Virtual Machine (JVM) bin directory is not found in the system path enviroment variable.

I installed Java Runtime Enviroment (JRE) in the usr/local directory.

Any ideas?

Yes you need to set a local or global JAVA_HOME variable... best thing to do is to add something like this to /etc/profile :

export JAVA_HOME=/usr/java/jre1.5.0_04

or in your case :
export JAVA_HOME=/usr/local/jre1.5.0_04

Just make sure you path points to the java directory...

You will need to reload your profile for the variable to become available, which you can do by either logging out and logging back in, or executing this command :

source /etc/profile

That should fix your problem.
