Stuck at 5.5. Linux-2.6.22.5 API Headers ERROR no space left on device

Hi everyone.

I'm stuck at this point:

Code:

make mrproper
make headers_check
make INSTALL_HDR_PATH=dest headers_install
cp -rv dest/include/* /tools/include

It says something like error writing to: /etc/cc6Z2PQQ.s: No space left on device, compilation terminated...

My RAM memory is almost full (a few kb are left), but my swapspace is activated and has 750MB of 1GB free

There is no space left on the partition containing /etc
on the harddisk.

Probably 95% full, 5% is reserved for root.

Whoa! No way it that file supposed to be written to /etc. Usually, the compiler will use /tmp or something like that. Sounds like something is _very_ wrong with your build environment. Maybe you missed a mount command or something.
