Query about BLFS 6.3 book Chapter 13. Connecting to a Network

In the dhcpcd-3.0.19 section it states:

Quote:
For more information on the appropriate DHCP_START and DHCP_STOP
values, examine the man page for dhcpcd.
In the Connecting to a Network DHCP-3.0.6 Client Configuration section it states:

Quote:
For more information on the appropriate DHCP_START and DHCP_STOP
values, examine the man page for dhclient.
However I cannot find anything about DHCP_START or DHCP_STOP in the man pages, info pages or google.

What values is the book talking about?

Thanks.

DHCP_START and DHCP_STOP are used to set the offset of IP addresses on the network, e.g. if DHCP_START=50 on a 192.168.1.1, the IP addresses issued to clients would start at 192.168.1.51.

Thanks Total-MAdMaN. I intalled dhclient and run it as root anyway just to see what happened. The ps -ef command confirmed that it was running as /sbin/dhclient -q eth0 and I was suprised to find that it worked! I could connect to websites like www.bbc.co.uk and www.yahoo.co.uk using the lynx web browser.
