Problem with locales

I am here: http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/...r06/glibc.html

I didn't get any errors from my test. I also got "Your new glibc installation seems to be ok" after running make install.

But when I try to generate my locales, I get this error:

localedef -i en_US -f UTF-8 en_US.UTF-8



cannot create temporary file: No such file or directory

What is causing this?

It may be that localedef is attempting to create a temporary file in /tmp. Do you have a /tmp, yet? Adding a -v flag is always a good next step:

Try the following command

make localedata/install-locales

From a bit further down the page this is what I always use it will install more locales than you need at moment but it doesn't hurt to have the extra locales for testing purposes.
