"plzzzz" ??? means please maybe??

Go to Distrowatch.com and pick anything in the top ten on their "hit list".

There is no "better" or "best"

How to start:
Download
burn to CD
install

Do you mean Fedora??

Redhat costs money and Fedora is free

Neither one would be my first choice for a beginner.

Get Fedora Core 5, install, play for a month or two, delete, get and install slackware-current, play for another couple of months, delete, get and install debian, play for a couple of months (and if you dont hang yourself after the first week of debian), get LFS book and LFS files, start LFS project.

A good way to start is by not bugging the members of the forums by posting anything anywhere ... If you want good support, you have to respect netiquette, read what is already online (RTFM ) and then ask on the right place ...

As I'm in a good mood, I'll still answer : Ubuntu is great for a start (and for advanced use also)
