Pgtk-2.17.0 error

Hi

I,m having an issue with pygtk-2.17 here
The problem is with pygobject!!! I installed pygobject-3.0.3 which complained about no pycario so I installed it along with pango. Then went back installed pyobject and the other dependencies. When I run make on pygtk it errors with no pygobject-2.0>=2.16. I then went and got pygobject-2.12.3 redone pygtk error pygobject 2.12.3 not 2.16.?. MY mistake read it as pygobject-2.0 to 2.16 (thinking 2.12 was inbetween).
I then got pygobject 2.20.0 failed with an error cant find at moment.
I then reinstalled pygobject-3--- again, then pygtk, error was 2.12 installed???

There is no mention of pygobject 2.16.0 as a dependencie??
I had no errors with pygobject -3-----

code on all pygobjects
Code:
./configure --prefix=/usr && make
/usr/lib/pkgconfig/pygobject-2.0pc & pygobject-3.0pc both present

Hi

My initial thoughts this mourning is to remove /usr/lib/pkgconfig/pygobject-2.0pc file and install pygobject-2.21.? from blfs Version svn-20110208.
Pygtk is still the same version.

Any thoughts???

Ok I have got pygtk to install.

1st I tried to hack the /usr/lib/pkgconfig/pygobject-2.0.pc file by changing the version2.12.3 number to 2.21.3, to see if this would fool GTK "no"

2nd I tried moving pygobject-3.0.pc to pygobject-2.0.pc "no"

3rd delete pygbject-2.0.pc then install version 2.21.3 "success"

I would like to know if anyone has installed pygtk-2.17.0 with Pygobject-3.0 as per book. As I dont feel I have done anything wrong!!!
