Hi,

patch -Np1 -i ../binutils-2.24-load_gcc_lto_plugin_by_default-1.patch

I am sorry but in which directory should I be in when I run this command???

"In which directory should I be in here " seems to be my favourite question with doing lfs

ok, help very much appreciated..

Thank you,

In the main source directory - $LFS/sources/binutils-2.24

Does that mean I am doing binutils again, ie do I delete the contents of the build folder already have or rename?

You should delete both bintuils-build and binutils-2.24 and unpack the sources fresh.

If the patch applies cleanly, you can build from same directory.

Or you can remove the directory, untar binutils, cd to it and apply patch cleanly and build.
