No directory paths displayed at prompt

Hi there

After finishing the LFS book I rebooted and logged in to root. the prompt come up as "bash-3.1#" and I seem to be able to do normal things. One thing that isn't normal though is the prompt doesn't show directory paths. Is this because i've missed something in the book or is it just because I haven't setup the root profile?

Thanks for you help in advance.

Nick

To display the directory path at the prompt edit the (hidden) file in your home directory which may be called .bashrc or .profile

Add the line

export PS1='$PWD>'
