Multi Boot difficulty related to Grub and fstab? ?
Nowadays, I met a very annoying difficulty.
My computer already had 2 OS----WindowsXP and Fedora Core 3. However, my Fedora brings my interests in Linux, so, I decided to try more Linux systems and wanted to make a comparison between them....
Now, the 1st try is Gentoo... However, never succeed. Every time after I installed Gentoo, I found inside my "boot" folder of Gentoo system, there is a mapping/image folder whose name is also "boot". Chick the mapping/image "boot", another "boot" jumped out... continuously recyled, never ended
Since I thought every Linux may have similar construction, I decided to check how about "boot" in Fedora... The things are different from Gentoo...
So, I gave up Gentoo and started SuSE, the same problem came, just as what happened to my Gentoo...
1. I just wonder whether this phenonmenon has something to do with Grub? Because before my installation of Gentoo/SuSE, I've already installed Grub to my Fedora Partition.
2. If it has nothing to do with Grub, does the phenonmenon has something to do with my fstab?? I don't know how Grub works, but, I should mention, my fstab in Fedora does mount the partition which I wanted to install Gentoo/SuSE.
Now, this problem has annoyed more than a whole week. I have no idea of it at all. Please help me....
Cheers
