Man_DB

i have another problem guys
i'm in 6.51 section of lfs 7
when i want to prepare man-db for compilation i got this error:

checking for po4a... no
checking for an ANSI C-conforming const... yes
checking for inline... (cached) inline
checking for pid_t... yes
checking for uid_t in sys/types.h... (cached) yes
checking for size_t... (cached) yes
checking for pkg-config... no
checking for libpipeline... no
configure: error: in `/sources/man-db-2.6.0.2':
configure: error: The pkg-config script could not be found or is too old. Make sure it
is in your PATH or set the PKG_CONFIG environment variable to the full
path to pkg-config.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables libpipeline_CFLAGS
and libpipeline_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

To get pkg-config, see <http://pkg-config.freedesktop.org/>.
See `config.log' for more details

can anybody help me?

Hi,

Are you sure you entered the following configure step correctly?
Code:
PKG_CONFIG=/tools/bin/true \
    libpipeline_CFLAGS='' \
    libpipeline_LIBS='-lpipeline' \
    ./configure --prefix=/usr --libexecdir=/usr/lib \
    --docdir=/usr/share/doc/man-db-2.6.0.2 --sysconfdir=/etc \
    --disable-setuid --with-browser=/usr/bin/lynx \
    --with-vgrind=/usr/bin/vgrind --with-grap=/usr/bin/grap
The bold part makes sure the external pkg-config isn't used and I do believe your error points to that (external pkg-config).

Hope this helps.

Those are "just" the man-pages, it is up to you to (not) install whatever you want on your box
