Live CD - adding fonts

Hi folks,

I'm prepared adding some fonts to the LiveCD temporarily. But did not know where to start.

I'm not going to remaster the LiveCD. I'm planning to keep the font files on the HD. After booting, mount the HD and copy the font file to the directory where the fonts of the CD are retained. Then restart X.

Could any folk please shed me some light. TIA

Well, Live cd's don't save anything unless you specify... so, not knowing what distro your using I would say in the case of Knoppix for instense... you would have to save the configuration file to either your HD or other removable device in order for it to be saved...

I think if you want your LiveCD to use the fonts. You're probably going to need to copy them into your RAM, because that's where liveCD's run from.

I've never done that so I don't know if you can crew anything up or not!

Also, I really don't use LiveCD's.

Hi folks,

Tks for your advice. Sorry for not mentioning LFS LiveCD on my first posting. I'll use the LFS LiveCD to build LFS. I'm prepared keeping the fonts on HD.
