Linux From Scratch Video Tutorials

I saw there was like 2 tries at making a series at youtube, so I thought "Hmmm, It cant stay like this. I should help out". I am therefore planning making a series, but would like some suggestions on content.

Like:

Should I do LFS 6.8? Or LFS Developement Version?
Should it be a just the LFS, or shoud I think about getting KDE on there?

Things like that.

I dont really know much about this yet, but I feel a call to start on it soon.
The videos will be without a mic, so maybe, if someone here is wanting to maybe add sound to the videos or come with comments to what I should do to clarify my videos, that would certainly be a good thing for the LFS community,

I want to do this to help people migrate to the LFS to get more people interested. Of course, it's a hard OS to install, but hey, ITS WORTH THE WAIT =)

Is there any interest for people that I do this? There is literally next to nothing on youtube etc.

I think the main problem people have is when they get a problem, You have built a lfs system what do you think? Would a video of helped you, Sure you can show how to load the disc and mount it but installing the system is prety much easy Until an error occurs.

Yeah, it is, but I found it easier to start when some guy just did it in front of me and told what to do. Yes, easy, and worth it =)

I support your idea. At the very least, you could do initial recording and let me know, thus I could comment on it and see if it will improve the tutorial.

OK, regarding your questions:
- Better with stable version, which 6.8 as we speak. reason: that's the one newbie intuitively will pick... "stable" --> less trouble :)

- Plain LFS first..... then let's see what others think. If there's enough enthusiasm, then you could proceed to BLFS.

I recommend you using this tutorials:

[SPAM REMOVED]

They have pretty much everything I needed to get started with Linux and get more advanced!

Good Luck to All Linux users out there!

Nice of you to contribute, but the video tutorials you gave us the link for isn't LFS specific.

It might be a nice resource for general Linux use/information but it won't help people that want/need to build a LFS system.

Hi,

I would also be interested in a video tutorial on installing LFS. I have tried and failed to install LFS at least twice using the manual. I've found that I learn faster using written and video tutorials. Thank you for considering creating video tutorials.

------------

I noticed the same thing when I first started. Lfs was definitely a grinder. It would have been a little easier with at least some sort of guide.
It took me a while but I completed my LFS (6.2) and put it up on Youtube. If anyone is having trouble you could use them as a guide
(the link

)
32 vids from start to finish and 10 of Blfs 6.2.
