Even though I have set this thread to solved, I thought I would give an update.

Midori in the default BLFS setup is missing a lot of icons such as the "New Tab", and "Bookmark" icon. I was getting messages like this:

(midori4:27409): Gtk-WARNING **: Error loading icon 'bookmark-new' for stock: Icon 'bookmark-new' not present in theme
I fixed this by installing a different icon theme from gnome-look.org. I had to edit the ~/.gtkrc-2.0 file. Just thought I would post this in case anyone else runs into this issue.
