I created a LFS 6.3 distro on my computer in hopes of using it with the Linux Live scripts from SLAX. I was able to build the 2.6.24.3 Kernel that SLAX needs to run from a CD (using the SLAX provided source and scripts). I was then able to build the Linux Live CD but i am now running into an issue.
When i boot from the CD and run KDE (from the command line using startx) it appears that my color depth is off or i don't have enough memory to paint all the colors. I found this odd since i can boot the same kernel version from the hard drive and everything works fine. Only when i boot from a CD do i get this issues.
Also I just booted the CD on a different computer and it works fine. I built the CD and the distro on a Dell Optiplex 755, but the CD does not work on these. I was able to boot the CD successfully off a Dell Optiplex 270 (much older computer).
Am I missing a driver in the kernel? Is there a setting for KDE that when booted off the CD that it needs?
Any help would be great.
If you need anymore info please ask and i will try and provide it.
