LFS on Itanium2 - is it possible?
 
Hi, Guys!

Today i have a question about lfs on itanium2. So, i'd like to make lfs for my server. But i don't know how to configure packages for this architecture. Can u help me with it? :)

If it has a gcc profile it can be done!
Saying that, you should take a look at CLFS as they are in to cross compiling.

Itanium2 should have a profile in GCC and the kernel, I think it's listed as IA-64 or IA64.

You can do a build for IA-64 (Itanium), but yes, you will need a cross-compile project to build using a secondary system to gain access to the server resources.

But maybe it's possible to install server linux at first (ubuntu server for example or debian) then to compile usual lfs with necessary prefixes, isn't it?
