I am currently in the middle of my first LFS build, or rather, I am at the beginning (compiling gcc ATM). Anyway, I configured the user 'lfs' as suggested by the book, and switched to it. The problem now is that I forgot to set a root password before switching, and now I can't log into the LiveCDs root account anymore. I have googeled, and tried every possible root password I could think of.

So, could anyone give me the standard password to the LiveCD root account, so I have in case of need in the future? I know this question is really nooby, and the problem shouldn't have occurred, but I hope you can help me none the less.

Hi,
when as 'lfs' user, try typing
It should bring you back to the LFS virtual console. There you can type
and set your root password. I had the same problem and never found out if there was a root password, but this worked nice. Hope it works for you.
