lfs live cd won't access my sata drive

hello, cfdisk, fdisk and parted all return a cannot open disk error. I have a Silicon image controller which lspci reveals. I have only one harddrive so the command should be cfdisk /dev/sda right?

Hi,

I was just browsing through to find the latest on LFS and noticed your post.

Try this command:

dmesg | more

Look through the listing and it should have something about your SATA drive. It's usually toward the end of the listing. Be on the lookout for your controller's name.
