LFS for PowerBook G4?

PowerBook G4 abandoned by Apple is not ready to die with 1.67Ghz PPC & 2GB ram, fast 80GB hdd, SuperCD drive, working networking tools, sound, & video.

Is LFS a viable option for a PowerBook G4 alternative OS to keep hardware running optimally for at its own functioning level... Updating security, browser, & apps? All similar threads are way too old.

You would have to have instructions to build for the PowerPC platform, but none-the-less it should be doable if you have a G4 ready distribution.

I used to have the old aliminium ppc powerbook, and I installed debian on it ok, but could never get LFS to build, as I remember it always borked at building glibc complaining anout the architecture, 'corse I wasn't so experienced at building LFS then, unfortunatly I no longer have the power book but I do have an old ppc imac somwhere, if you run into problems give me shout and I will power it up ( if it still works ) and see what I can do.

You may try PowerPC port of CLFS.

PowerPC should be fine for LFS and I cant see why anything would not work. Only potential issue would be with some compiler flags if they were copied off the web. I actually have one of these computers sitting in a cabinet somewhere at home and have been meaning to do something with it as it has a good keyboard and still works.
